Malaga have made their interest in David Barral known and are stepping up their pursuit of the Levante striker.
According to AS, the Andalusians have been tracking the 31-year-old for some time and began talks with his club some weeks ago, with negotiations now having reached an advanced stage.
Barral’s contract with Los Granotes expires on June 30 this year and he is yet to be offered a new one, while Malaga have taken the lead and now put their offer on the table.
The Cadiz-born player has been in good form this season and notched two hat-tricks, including one against Malaga, while striking nine La Liga goals.
The Costa del Sol outfit are also keen to bring Barral’s teammate Pape Diop to La Rosaleda as the Senegal international will also become a free agent this summer.
