Larrivey “excited” for Barca clash

Celta Vigo striker Joaquin Larrivey admits his team are very excited at the prospect of facing Barcelona next weekend.

The Catalans visit Galicia hoping for revenge over the Galicians, who won 1-0 at the Camp Nou back in November when Larrivey’s goal and a miraculous performance from goalkeeper Sergio Alvarez was the difference between the sides.

However, the 30-year-old concedes that Celta will face a difficult task at Balaidos.

“We’re very excited about this game but we know it’s going to be really difficult to repeat the success we had at the Camp Nou because we are up against the best team in the world, or at least one of the top three,” the Argentine told Efe.

“In that match we played really well and next Sunday we’ll need to perform at a similar level to beat Barcelona.

“Keeping a clean sheet against them is almost an impossible job and we’ll have to defend brilliantly.

“We’ll also have to hope our goalkeeper produces another fantastic performance and trust they are not successful.”
