‘Barca getting better every day’

Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu believes the team are not only in good form, but improving all the time.

Bartomeu was speaking after seeing La Blaugrana blow away Athletic Bilbao at San Mames, recording a 5-2 victory with goals from Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez and Pedro Rodriguez.

“They are three important points to get closer to the League leader,” he said, AS reports.

“The team is good and getting better every day. We’ve had a very good game here. The fans will be happy because the team is improving. The change is obvious.

“I congratulate all the players but especially Messi, Suarez and Neymar.

“Messi was decisive. He’s the best in the world and was involved in all the goals. We’re reaching the level we want to be at and we can have a very good year.

“Anoeta a turning point? There haven’t been any new players or a new Coach to work with the group. We found our rhythm and the evolution is positive. I think we can still improve our level.”

Bartomeu also commended the hosts for their new stadium and looked to the future amid plans for Barca to redevelop Camp Nou.

“I love San Mames. Hopefully our future home is this nice,” he remarked.
