Villarreal striker Luciano Vietto could not hide his sadness at his team’s 3-2 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

The Argentine notched the Yellow Submarine’s second goal after Rafinha had put the hosts in front at the Camp Nou, yet lamented the fact it was not enough to earn Villarreal at least a share of the spoils.

“We are a little sad at the outcome but we left with our heads held high because we were up against a great team,” the 21-year-old told reporters.

“We scored the first goal and they equalised. We scored the second and they equalised again.

“Then they got a third and in the end we couldn’t quite manage it. But Barcelona are among the best in the world at how they move the ball around,” he added.
