JIM baffled by Almeria players

Almeria boss Juan Ignacio Martinez claimed he was baffled by the attitude of his players during the first half of the 3-0 loss to Espanyol.

Christian Stuani scored a brace and Felipe Caicedo was on target again to ensure Espanyol a comfortable victory over the strugglers, leaving Martinez to reflect on the performance of his team.

“With what we were playing for I didn’t understand the attitude of my team during the first half. Even so, I am the first one to blame as we must compete at all times,” he told a Press conference.

“We spoke at half time when we were 2-0 down and corrected some things. I liked what I saw after the break but Espanyol are doing well at the moment while we are a little down.

“The games we have between now and the end of the season are more than finals, but with all due respect to Espanyol we had hoped to take something positive away from here.”
