Quique ‘hopeful’ for Getafe chances

Quique Sanchez Flores says he is hopeful of Getafe’s chances of progress in the Copa del Rey following the 1-0 defeat at Villarreal.

The Getafe boss saw his side go down to a late Bruno free-kick in their first-leg quarter-final clash at El Madrigal but believes the result means the tie is far from over.

“It’s not a comfortable result for us but neither is it definitive,” he told reporters at a post-match Press conference.

“We go into the return leg with a good chance of going through, so we’ll want to compete and do well, although we are aware our main priority is the League.

“This was a very demanding match but we leave with the feeling that it could have been 0-0. In these games we need to see all our players and we are proud of them, particularly the youngsters, who did really well.

“We are a tough team for anyone to play against. We are far from perfect but are getting better.

“I’m very happy with the squad and I’m convinced we are going to compete well until the end of the season,” he concluded.
