Feghouli ‘very happy’ at Valencia

Sofiane Feghouli has voiced his happiness at Valencia ahead of Sunday’s encounter with Real Madrid in La Liga.

The Algerian midfielder will leave for the Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea after the match, but he is nonetheless ready to invest all of his energies into the Mestalla spectacle after successfully regaining his place under Nuno Santo.

“There’s no doubt that the favourite in Sunday’s match at Mestalla is Real Madrid because of their 20 consecutive victories,” he admitted at a Press conference today.

“I’m very happy to help Valencia against Real Madrid. It’s a very important game for the club, and I want to contribute the maximum on the pitch.

“It’s a beautiful game against the strongest team in the world, where every player wants to be. We’ll do our best to win and give joy to our fans, who deserve it.

“I’ll be very happy if the club want to continue our relationship. My head and feet are only in Valencia.

“I’m always available to the club as they’ve given me the opportunity to play in major competitions. I’m very happy, and I have big objectives ahead of me.

“For a footballer, scoring a goal is the ultimate mark of fulfilment. I hope we return to the Champions League in 2015 because it’s the dream of everyone here.

“It would also be great to win the Copa [del Rey].”
