Ivan Rakitic has revealed that expectations at Barcelona are so high that even a draw is considered a bad result.
The Croatia midfielder was speaking before playing Italy in a Euro 2016 qualifier, and also reflected on playing against Lionel Messi’s Argentina earlier in the international window.
“At Barca you can’t even afford to draw. But among the players and the staff there is a lot of confidence,” he said, Mundo Deportivo reports.
“There’s still a lot of room for improvement and I’m sure we’ll play better.
“Messi praised Croatia’s style of play and spoke very positively of our team.”
