Camacho warns of “tricky” Eibar test

Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho has warned of the dangers posed by Eibar when the teams meet at La Rosaleda this Saturday.

The newly-promoted minnows have surprised everyone with their fine start to the season, taking 13 points from the opening 10 games, and currently sit ninth in the table.

Malaga themselves are on a good run, having won their last four games to move up to seventh, but Camacho is taking nothing for granted against Gaizka Garitano’s Basque outfit.

“Eibar are a team that makes sacrifices and their players do a lot of running, while they also know how to defend and that will make it difficult to score goals,” he told a Press conference.

“If we want to win we’ll have to play a great game and relax, but it will be tricky because despite being a recently promoted side they are not performing like one.

“However, we must do our own thing given we are at home in front of our own fans.”

Camacho was asked about his team’s aims for this season after the impressive start under new Coach Javi Gracia.

“It’s too early to say as La Liga has only just started and at the moment we are trying to win as many games as possible and get points.

“But a lot can happen as there is a long way to go to the end of the season and in the final month we will see where we are, if we’ve stayed up comfortably or we can aspire to more.

“Dreaming is free and in this case our fans can dream. We are both doing our best to achieve something nice,” he insisted.

Spain boss Vicente del Bosque announces his latest squad on Friday and Under-21 international Camacho admits it would be a dream to be included in it.

“Every Spanish player dreams of playing for the national team and it’s the greatest thing that can happen to you.

“I did it in the lower categories and it would be great to get into the senior squad. It will be very difficult, although at the moment we are going through a transitional period.

“If it ever happens then great, but if not I’ll continue to work hard with my team and it won’t be a massive disappointment,” he maintained.
