Francisco rues Almeria mistakes

Francisco believes ‘childish mistakes’ cost Almeria at least a point against Levante after falling to a 2-1 defeat.

Levante scored their first and second home goals of the season to see off the visitors and Francisco said after the match that while he was pleased with his team’s performance, it’s tempered by the result.

“We’ve played our best game of the season but I can’t be satisfied because it’s our third consecutive defeat,” he said, AS reports.

“We’ve done the work to score and we kept trying until the last play.

“We knew it was going to be difficult but we regret we lost because of two childish mistakes. We had most of the match, looked for an equaliser and when we got it, we gave away a second goal with another avoidable error.

“We wanted at least a point because it was a big game. At 1-1 we’ve gone for the second goal because we were here to win.”
