Valencia winger Pablo Piatti has said Alvaro Negredo is desperate to make a full comeback from injury after his debut for Los Che.
Negredo played the final few minutes of Valencia’s win over Elche, his first appearance for the club following a season-long loan move from Manchester City.
Piatti played with Negredo at Almeria and revealed the two remain good friends, with Piatti regularly checking on the status of Negredo’s foot injury.
“I’ve known Negredo for years and we’re friends. I ask him how he is every day,” he confirmed, AS reports.
“It’s clear he has a great desire to return, to feel good, and more importantly, to score goals.
“I think he knows how to handle the anxiety and I think when he’s at his best he’ll be at a high level.
“It’s a blessing to have that type of player and with Rodrigo Moreno and Paco Alcacer, they can all contribute a lot.
“Coach Nuno Santo will assess the situation and make the decisions needed.”
