Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez lauded the courage and strength of his players in Friday night’s 1-0 victory at Granada.

The Franjirrojos left it late to collect all three points at Los Carmenes, with Manucho’s angled shot two minutes into stoppage time securing the win with virtually the last kick of the match.

“Our delight is greater because as the game wore on everybody saw it as 0-0,” he told reporters post-match.

“However, we had the confidence to keep searching for a goal and showed the courage and strength to keep on getting forward.

“Granada attacked us from the start, something they don’t usually do, and that made life a little difficult, but my team never had any doubts and risked a few things.

“Sometimes that can cost you but we work so that there are more good moments than disappointments,” he explained.

Jemez says the recent good run of results will not change the way his team plays or their objectives for this season.

“We think the same way win or lose. In our own way we try to win as many games as possible to make our fans proud of what we are doing.”
