Del Bosque in La Roja quit hint

Spain national team boss Vicente del Bosque has suggested he may quit the role when his current contract ends after Euro 2016.

The 63-year-old gave an interview to Spanish National Radio’s ‘Radiogaceta de los Deportes’ programme in which he was asked if he would leave the job after the tournament in France.

“Sure. I think so. Let’s get to France and then we’ll see. In theory that will be my final challenge.

“But I always try to defend football, whether it is with the national team or in my own home,” said Del Bosque, who was named La Roja Coach in July 2008, just after Spain had won that year’s European Championship.

Since then he has led the team in 94 matches, with an impressive record of 74 wins, eight draws and 12 defeats, and won the World Cup in 2010 and a European Championship in 2012.

Del Bosque was also questioned over whether goalkeeper Iker Casillas had told him he did not want to continue representing Spain.

“I read a report, some comment, and I heard it about it today, but I don’t know anything.

“I don’t believe it’s true at all. He’s not said anything to me,” he replied.
