Dos Santos happy with Almeria defence

Almeria defender Mauro Dos Santos believes the team are in reasonable shape despite failing to record a home win this season.

Los Rojiblancos are 10th in the table with nine points from their opening seven games but are yet to take maximum points from Juegos Mediterraneos.

Almeria have drawn with Athletic Bilbao, Espanyol, Cordoba and Elche and lost to Atletico Madrid, Dos Santos vowing the players will correct the faults that have prevented a home win.

“Sometimes things don’t go as you want,” he said, Marca reports.

“We’re the first to be self-critical, when we see our own errors and we try to correct it for the next match.

“But conceding seven goals in seven games is a good balance.

“We’re looking forward to winning three points for our supporters but we’re not going to go crazy.

“This week is a break and we have to work hard physically and then start thinking about Villarreal.

“The League is very even and all the games are tough. There are 90 minutes and if you stay focused, you can beat anyone.”
