Elche have released a statement in response to allegations of an LFP investigation into last season’s Round 36 win over Malaga.
Reports in Spain today claimed the LFP have received a complaint over Elche’s 1-0 win, a result that effectively confirmed the team in this year’s top flight. Malaga were already all-but safe.
AS reports the Elche statement revealing they have had no notification of an investigation into the fixture.
“Elche have not been officially informed about the alleged investigation, and are oblivious and unware of the actions allegedly attributed to the club,” the statement read.
“[Elche will] collaborate in all that is necessary, so that the contents of the investigation are completely clarified.
“[Elche reserves the right] to defend our image, prestige and interests and our professionalism where appropriate.”
