Barcelona defender Douglas is promising hard work to cement a place in Luis Enrique’s starting line-up.
The Brazilian, signed from Sao Paolo during the summer, made his debut in the 0-0 draw at Malaga on Wednesday and says he will fight for more of the same.
“I’m very happy to have been given the opportunity to start and I’m going to continue working hard. I hope to find a place in the team,” he told reporters.
“It was difficult to play against Malaga as they had a lot of men behind the ball but I’m happy to have taken a point.
“It’s not a bad result but we are Barcelona and always have to take something positive from any game.
“We wanted all three points, yet I suppose one is quite good when you are playing away from home,” he explained.
