‘Almeria suffered a lot’

Almeria Coach Francisco said his side had to dig deep to beat Real Sociedad, particularly playing the last 10 minutes with 10 men.

Los Rojiblancos took a two-goal lead at Anoeta but had Sebastian Dubarbier sent off in the 79th minute, with Chori Castro pulling a goal back shortly after.

“We suffered a lot until the end because they are better than us and had already come from behind against Real Madrid and Celta Vigo,” Francisco said, AS reports.

“We had one player fewer and we knew we were going to suffer.

“But the work we’ve done in training has been rewarded because we had been practicing set-pieces and today we earned a reward.”

Francisco was sent from the touchline for his protests against the officials and apologised for his behaviour.

“It was a bad decision, personally, but in the end it didn’t affect the result,” he noted.
