Fran Escriba has rejected the suggestion that Elche’s season is only starting now they’ve gotten the game at Barcelona out the way.
Elche were beaten 3-0 at Camp Nou and it was put to the Coach at his post-match Press conference that since they didn’t expect to get anything from the Catalans, there’s no harm done.
“It was the first game of the season and we have taken it seriously,” Marca reports Escriba as replying.
“Our season started a couple of hours ago.
“These type of players, [Lionel] Messi or [Andres] Iniesta, do a lot and go so well, but there were times their superiority wasn’t noticed.
“When you get to half time you think you have options but then there’s an accident that leaves you with no choice.”
