New Atletico Madrid signing Jesus Gamez says Diego Simeone’s game by game approach that worked so well last season must be continued.
The right-back joined the Rojiblancos from Malaga this summer and, during an interview with AS, he said his teammates are full of desire ahead of their Spanish Super Cup meeting with rivals Real Madrid.
“After last year with our very high objectives, there is one thing that marks the Coach out – the game by game approach,” Gamez stated.
“It’s clear that we have to defend the title, but everything happened last year because of the game by game approach and it needs to continue in the same way this year.
“We have a lot of desire. We know that it is two matches that will be very intense, but we will approach them with excitement and a lot of desire.
“My teammates, the Coach, the technical staff and everyone in general have made me feel comfortable and at ease.
“I am proud to wear this shirt and we hope everything will go well.”
