Tiago Mendes could remain in La Liga after leaving Atletico Madrid with a move to Valencia a possibility.
Marca reports that the Portuguese was expected to move to Chelsea on a free transfer and had agreed a two-year contract, but the move is now not likely to go ahead.
His agent, Jorge Mendes, has instead offered Tiago to Valencia, according to Cadena Ser, although it’s not guaranteed terms will be agreed.
Tiago is said to be looking for €5m a year on a two-year deal, with an administrative post agreed when he retires.
Atletico have made contact with their former midfielder but will only offer a one-year contract.
