Rayo Vallecano have renewed centre-back Ze Castro for another season, ending speculation he could move on.
The 31-year-old played 19 times last season, AS reports, having spent part of the campaign on the sidelines due to injury.
But it is expected that if he can maintain his fitness he will be central to the plans of Coach Paco Jemez for next year.
The Portuguese moved to Rayo last summer after ending his contract with Deportivo La Coruna, and previously played for Atletico Madrid and Academica.
