Former Barcelona and Croatia midfielder Robert Prosinecki has backed the Catalans’ moves for Ivan Rakitic and Alen Halilovic.
Halilovic has joined Barca from Dinamo Zagreb and Prosinecki, who played under Johan Cruyff in 1995-96, believes his old club have picked up a star of the future, if he settles in Spain.
“He was a great talent in Croatia and now we need to see it at Barca,” Sport reports Prosinecki as telling Esports COPE.
“But here he was great, he shouldn’t struggle to adapt.”
Prosinecki also weighed in on the proposed move for Sevilla captain Rakitic, who Sport claim will join Barca for €18m.
“Rakitic is professional, hard-working and a high technical level,” Prosinecki said.
“He has done very well in Seville and will surely have a big role at Barca.”
