Varane: La Decima the highlight

Raphael Varane has described winning the Champions League with Real Madrid as one of the best moments of his career.

The France international started the final against Atletico Madrid after Pepe was judged not fit enough to feature.

Madrid won 4-1 after extra time and AS reports Varane as comparing the winning feeling to ‘being in a bubble.’

“La Decima is something magnificent. My teammates had to wait a long time,” he said.

“This is truly a highlight of my career. I was in a bubble after the game. There was excitement and happiness.”

Varane was also asked about his future, amid reports of interest from Chelsea.

“I don’t think about that right now. We have a World Cup ahead,” he replied.

“[Zinidine] Zidane knows about the World Cup and it’s been very good to talk to him.

“[France] have a young, motivated team that has done well and has no limits. I love the team and want to contribute to the fullest. I’m targeting a starting place.”
