Barca’s six transfer targets – report

Barcelona have identified six players at the top of their list of transfer targets, Mundo Deportivo has claimed.

The report names Claudio Bravo, Juan Cuadrado, Marquinhos, Jeremy Mathieu, Koke and Sergio Aguero as the half-dozen La Blaugrana have their sights on.

MD add that Bravo will join once Barca and Real Sociedad have reached an agreement, with Barca eager to sign a goalkeeper with experience of La Liga to go with newcomer Marc-Andre Ter Stegen.

Cuadrado is considered the attacking right-back successor to Dani Alves but it’s acknowledged that Fiorentina don’t want to sell, so another option could be sought.

Marquinhos is seen as the complement to Gerard Pique and Alves could be offered to Paris Saint-Germain to hurry negotiations along.

Mathieu could be an alternative to Marquinhos, described as a new Eric Abidal, as a centre-back who can also play left-back.

Valencia could be willing to cash in on the France international if Barca pay his €20m release clause.

Koke would usher Cesc Fabregas out the door and eventually replace Xavi Martinez for both club and country, according to MD, but it is another transfer that will be far from straightforward.

And more so would be Aguero, with Manchester City strident in their stance that the Argentina forward isn’t for sale.

But Barca dream of partnering Aguero and Messi, or fielding both in a three with Neymar, and Messi is particularly excited at the idea of teaming with his good friend.
