Bartomeu welcomes Enrique

Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu has welcomed new Blaugrana Coach Luis Enrique back to the club.

The tactician has arrived at the Catalan giants from Celta Vigo and has signed a two year contract at Camp Nou.

Speaking at the Press conference to unveil the 44-year-old to the media, Bartomeu wished the new boss every success in his new role and revealed he always thought Enrique would one day return to Barca.

“We are delighted to present Luis Enrique as the new Coach of Barca,” he said. “He is an old face and was born and bred here.

“His arrival makes us very optimistic looking forward to the future. Luis is very hard-working and very capable.

“When he left Barca we knew he would be back sooner rather than later. Now, we have him back with us. I wish him all the luck in the world.”

The Barca chief then discussed Lionel Messi.

“He is delighted to be playing for Barca, he is another Catalan! He feels relaxed and happy, and because of this he signed the extension to his contract.

“The comments he made have been taken out of context. Before leaving for Argentina duty he wanted to know who would be the new Barca Coach. Now he knows.”
