Francisco thanked all the Almeria players and fans after they stayed in Primera Division with a draw against Athletic Bilbao.
The Juegos Mediterraneos outfit draw 0-0 with Los Leones on Sunday to keep their place in the Liga and finish in 17th place, a point above the relegation zone.
“We were aware of the difficulties as soon as we entered the League,” he told a Press conference.
“We’ve always been realistic, ever since the first game against Villarreal – but we’ve always been competitive.
“Now we’re safe because we’ve been realistic. Nearly all the teams in this League have better quality than we do, but we’ve been humble and deserve to stay up.
“I want to thank all the players and the fans – they’ve been unbelievable.”
