Ernesto Valverde has revealed he wants Atletico Madrid to win the League this season.
Valverde’s Athletic Bilbao were beaten 2-1 at home by Atletico on Saturday and the Coach conceded at his post-match Press conference that his side were second best to the leaders.
“There was a difference in strength and we couldn’t stop Diego Costa,” Valverde admitted.
“We tried but they were stronger than us in every single aspect.
“With Diego Costa, your defenders have to go all out to stop him.
“I’d like Atletico to win La Liga. They deserve it and if they stay first until the end of the season, they will.
“Seeing as how they’re an alternative to the big two, I suppose it’s ok.”
