‘Another step backwards for Getafe’

Getafe Coach Luis Garcia has described the draw with Espanyol as ‘another step backwards.”

El Geta have now not won in 11 League games and are only four points above the relegation zone ahead of Sunday’s fixtures.

The game with Espanyol at Alfonso Perez ended goalless and Garcia conceded he was under increasing pressure to improve results.

“It’s one of few times in football that things are going very badly for me,” Garcia told a Press conference.

“But I’ll keep going because these things happen in this job.

“The day the President calls, I’ll listen to what he says.

“The fans can do or say what they want. It’s natural they’re unhappy, both with me and the team.”

Garcia added that Getafe’s failure to score against Espanyol wasn’t for a lack of trying.

“We ended up playing with a lot of forwards but it’s difficult for us. This is another step backwards.

“The attitude of the players is good and they’re trying everything. But things keep happening and it is going badly.”
