David Zurutuza has revealed that Real Sociedad’s victory over Barcelona on Saturday went exactly to plan.
La Real won 3-1 at Anoeta and Zurutuza, scorer of the third goal, explained to reporters after the final whistle that Jagoba Arrasate laid out a game plan that the players executed perfectly.
“Playing against Barcelona is always difficult,” Zurutuza said.
“We played how we wanted to and it showed.
“We had more scoring chances than they did. In the first half they only had two shots but we scored a goal, we had more shots.”
He added that La Real don’t consider the victory to be revenge for Barca knocking them out of the Cup, insisting that League win has no bearing.
“What happened in the Copa del Rey is in the past,” Zurutuza said.
“La Liga is a different story.
“We thoroughly prepared for this match and went out fighting.”
