Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has said the fan who threw a lighter at Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t represent all Atletico Madrid supporters.
The goalkeeper did however call for firm action to be taken after the object struck Ronaldo as he was leaving the pitch at half-time in the 2-0 win at Vicente Calderon.
Ronaldo scored both goals of the game, netting two penalties inside the first 15 minutes to give Los Blancos a 5-0 aggregate win, and was booked for a challenge on Javi Manquillo that saw the young defender land awkwardly on his neck.
“There is always someone that tries to smear the image of a club like Atletico Madrid and it doesn't reflect how the majority of their fans are,” Casillas said on Madrid’s official website.
“I think the consequences could be serious, because it could have hurt a player.”
