Almeria Coach Francisco has expressed his delight after his side beat title challengers Atletico Madrid 2-0 on Saturday.
A Jose Antonio Verza brace and Francisco told his post-match Press conference that he was proud of his team after they overturned the odds.
“We all knew how important this game was and not many people believed we could win it,” Francisco said.
“But we have shown we can compete at this level and get results.
“We’ve now gone four home games without conceding a goal. We must congratulate the players for that.
“I’m very proud of this team and their commitment to taking us forward.”
Francisco again highlighted the defence, pointing out how they kept the attacking riches of Atletico at bay.
“We were superior in defence and [Diego] Costa and [Arda] Turan were not comfortable.
“But we must now think of Levante and nothing beyond, and work hard to get more results.”
