Javier Aguirre admitted he ‘couldn’t have asked for more’ as his Espanyol side beat Granada on Friday.
Victor Alvarez was sent off for the Periquitos on 30 minutes, but they went on to win the game 1-0 thanks to a Hector Moreno strike.
“I’m delighted with the work my players put in,” he told a Press conference. “We didn’t go into our shells after the red card.
“It was the right decision because he was the last man, but we continued to fight on – I couldn’t have asked for more.
“It’s not a position we find ourselves in, so we’ll have to see what we’re made of.
“Nothing’s decided in February though, so we have to keep moving on.”
