Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran has conceded Real Madrid were deserving winners in the Copa del Rey meeting on Wednesday.
Los Blancos won the game 3-0 and despite having a large slice of luck for two goals, Juanfran admitted Carlo Ancelotti’s side were worthy winners.
“We’re a winning team. It’s not often we lose and we don’t usually let in three goals,” Juanfran told reporters.
“They were more effective than us and are justified winners.
“It’s clear there were two goals of bad luck and if you take that away the game would have been different, or if we had scored to make it 2-1.
“We will be going for four goals at the Calderon. We’ll try to be ourselves.
“First though you have to get the first goal and it won’t be easy.”
Juanfran added that now Atleti needed to focus on the League, with Almeria the opposition on Saturday.
“That’s not an easy place to go and win.
“Let’s try to draw strength and take the positives, keep winning and give a good account of ourselves, as always.”
