Elche Coach Fran Escriba has welcomed the three points gained from his side’s 1-0 victory over Almeria.
Christian Herrera scored the only goal of the game to give Elche only their second League win of 2014, moving Escriba’s side four points clear of the bottom three.
“This victory has made me very happy,” Escriba told reporters.
“It was a very important win against an opponent like Almeria.
“We need to be adding three points to achieve salvation and that is what we did with today’s performance.
“We realize that if we get results at home we’ll have an easier time.
“We played the game we needed today. Before we lost some speed but we’ve recovered and our positional play was particularly good.”
