Elche boss Fran Escriba has admitted that his side were beaten in ‘the first 15 minutes’ against Real Sociedad.
The promoted side lost 4-0 to the Erreala, thanks to an Antoine Griezmann double, a Carlos Vela strike and an early own goal.
And the Coach has claimed that it was damage limitation almost from the start.
“The key were the first 15 minutes,” he told a Press conference. “We didn’t play badly, but conceded two goals very quickly.
“From there, the game was over for us.
“We lacked intensity, but Real Sociedad were decisive in both areas, and that’s where they won.
“This result won’t have consequences for us – we’ll just forget it and move on.”
