Barcelona have confirmed that they have postponed a friendly they had agreed to play in Doha in February.
The Blaugrana had been set to travel to Qatar next month to play a friendly match against an unnamed rival.
The game was part of the club’s sponsorship with Qatari Sports Investment, however, the Catalans have revealed that they have decided use the date as a vital rest period.
“The date coincided with the only rest days the first team has before the most intense part of the season, so we felt it was the right thing to do,” a statement read.
Barcelona are looking at the possibility of playing the game at the end of the current season, or the start of the next, but have given no further details.
