Elche Coach Fran Escriba was hurt by the way his side dropped points against Sevilla, claiming they should have taken all three.
An 81st minute goal from Cristian Herrera put the home side in front but Elche were unable to hold on to the lead and record a first win since November.
Daniel Carrico equalised in the 88th minute for Sevilla, with Escriba revealing to reporters that he felt Elche deserved the victory.
“We’ve lost two points and everyone in the locker room feels hurt.
It’s painful conceding a goal the way we have, from a set-piece, when we haven’t suffered at all throughout the game defensively.”
Escriba added that while Elche didn’t create a glut of chances themselves, they had been closer to winning than Sevilla.
“They scored from an isolated incident,” he said.
“The team is on the right lines but we’re not getting the results.”
