Zinedine Zidane has briefly commented that Real Madrid remain in the dark over Xabi Alonso’s proposed contract renegotiation.
Reports in recent days have suggested that the midfielder has gone from affirming a desire to see out his contract and leave in the summer to wanting to initiate talks on an initial two-year extension.
However, Carlo Ancelotti’s current assistant Coach has refused to confirm if this is the latest position.
“We do not know about about Xabi,” Zidane is quoted as telling Cuatro at Madrid’s Barajas airport today.
The Frenchman was also elusive on Madrid’s current run of form.
“It is important that we continue along the same line.”
