Trio await Champions League draw

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid will today learn their opponents for the Last 16 of the Champions League.

UEFA this morning will hold the draw for the first knockout stage of the competition, with the three Spanish sides all seeded, having won their respective groups.

As a result, the draw, which otherwise keeps clubs from the same nation apart, can see each La Liga team drawn against one of seven potential opponents, as they will only have to be kept apart from the teams they faced in the group stages.

Notable names in the runners-up pot include Galatasaray, Manchester City, Arsenal and Milan.

Real Madrid: Bayer 04 Leverkusen (GER), Olympiacos FC (GRE), Manchester City FC (ENG), FC Schalke 04 (GER), Arsenal FC (ENG), FC Zenit (RUS), AC Milan (ITA)
