Javier Aguirre admitted Espanyol’s goals conceded against Real Jaen ‘were avoidable’, but believes a similar performance in the second leg will be enough.
Los Pericos needed Christian Stuani’s late equaliser to take home a 2-2 draw in the first leg of Sunday evening’s Copa del Rey Round of 32 clash.
“I’m happy with the performance of the players and we will follow the same line in the second leg,” Aguirre considered afterwards.
“The game was characterised by the chances to score and by the ambition of the two teams to win the game. But the two goals we conceded were avoidable.
“I’m happy with the performance of the players and we will continue on the same line in the second leg against Real Jaen.”
