JIM: Valladolid mood ‘good’

Juan Ignacio Martinez says the sentiment at Real Valladolid is ‘good’ ahead of welcoming an Osasuna side with a strong record at the Jose Zorilla.

Valladolid spent the international break sat in 16th place in La Liga but level on points with Celta Vigo directly above them and Almeria and Rayo Vallecano directly below.

“The truth is that there is always much to reflect on during a break, whether it comes in handy or not, but our feelings are good,” mused Coach Martinez to reporters today ahead of the team’s Week 14 Friday night fixture with Osasuna.

“This is a very difficult game for both the teams, the points are vital for both of us.

“Osasuna are like 80 per cent of the teams in the Primera Division – they are capable of losing at home and then going to win away at Malaga and stealing a point from Barcelona.”

Valladolid haven’t beaten Osasuna at home since 2002.

“They look like our ‘black beast’ because for a long time they have taken points at the Zorilla.

“They are also in need of points this time and we are going to make it difficult, whilst we will also have something to say.”
