Mel: A point would be a joy

Pepe Mel has admitted that he would be delighted with a point as his Real Betis side prepare to face Barcelona.

The Verdiblancos host the League leaders at the Benito Villamarin on Sunday evening, and the Coach has conceded that he would be happy with a draw against Tata Martino’s men.

“Teams better than us have not been able to beat Barcelona,” he told a Press conference.

“But we have to work hard, go out and try to get the three points. Obviously Barcelona’s level needs to drop.

“But any point we could get would be a joy.

“Our Europa League performances have been more the way we want to play, but we’re hoping to trade blows with Barcelona.

“They have the likes of Busquets, Pedro, Xavi –a lot of players who you could consider the best in their position.

“And let’s hope Messi isn’t back to his best!”
