Barcelona have confirmed that sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has agreed to pen a two-year contract extension.
The retired goalkeeper has been working in his current capacity since 2010 and his new deal agreed takes him to the end of the 2015-16 campaign and Sandro Rosell’s first term as President.
Speculation in recent weeks was that Zubizarreta’s renewal was just a formality and the club have today announced that it is agreed and will be signed over the next few days.
Zubizarreta has played a part in the Catalans’ signings of Adriano, Javier Mascherano, Ibrahim Afellay, Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez, Jodri Alba, Alex Song and Neymar.
