Real Betis President Miguel Guillen has once more backed Pepe Mel to turn around the club’s current situation.
Los Verdiblancos are in the relegation zone in La Liga as the result of a recent winless run, but with their President still backing the Coach.
“I am convinced that the situation will be reversed,” mused Guillen to reporters today, heading out with the team to Portugal for their Europa League clash with Vitoria Guimaraes this week.
“In the last two games there has been an important reaction and, regardless of the results that have not followed, that is the way to go.
“We need a couple of good results to reverse the situation and recover maximum confidence.
“The Coach has all the support. Assessing things midseason is useless. We are in November and the competition is a marathon.
“We believe that we have a competitive squad and I will stick with the games in which we have played a nice style and that the team has shown it is competitive.
“I know that it is no excuse, but we have also had many injuries and any team would notice that. There are no regrets, whatsoever, in creating a squad balancing the club’s sporting and financial needs.”
