Madrid consider Casilla for Casillas

Sport have suggested that Real Madrid are interested in bringing back Espanyol’s Kiko Casilla to the club as replacement for Iker Casillas.

On from Casillas indicating that his struggles for regular first team football at the Santiago Bernabeu may force him to consider his position at the club entering the final six months of the season, Sport suggest Madrid have started work on finding a replacement to compete with Diego Lopez.

It is reported that Los Blancos are looking at the possibility of bringing back former youth team player Casilla from Espanyol.

Sport indicate that Madrid are ‘pressing hard’ to take Casilla back, as they still hold 50 per cent of his registration, whilst Los Pericos are also believed to still owe money on their deal originally agreed in signing him.

At the same time, though, it is seen that both the 27-year-old and his current club are still intent at this moment in resolving contract renegotiations before the end of the calendar year.
