Caparros happy for the point

Joaquin Caparros acknowledged Levante’s ‘missed opportunity’ against Real Betis, but has taken value in their point picked up.

Los Granotes drew 0-0 at the Benito Villamarin on Thursday evening and despite playing an hour with an extra man after Javi Chica’s red card, relied on Keylor Navas to save a second-half Jorge Molina penalty for the point.

“It was not a good game of football and it is true that we have not taken advantage of our numerical superiority,” Caparros admitted after the game.

“Especially in the first half when we were too hesitant. We have been able to get away with their penalty, against Keylor Navas has been very good in goal.

“This draw means we have to do well in the next game. In this competition, each point should be celebrated. We have missed a good chance, but football is like that, when you think you can win the game, you can lose.

“I am happy with the clean sheet and the point even more so, which is important for us.”
