Francisco: I won’t resign, Almeria

Francisco Javier Rodriguez has commented that his future as Almeria Coach is down to the club’s board, after defeat at Real Sociedad.

Sunday evening’s 3-0 reverse in San Sebastian extended the Andalucian outfit’s winless start to the season to 10 games.

Whilst rock bottom of La Liga and already six points adrift of safety, the club’s tactician has indicated that he will not be walking away.

“We are at the disposal of the club for whatever they want and I will not lower my arms,” Francisco commented to reporters at Anoeta.

“I will fight to the end to pull this off, either as a Coach or a ball boy. I consider myself a man of this club. Whatever will be, will be. It is not in my hands.

“Obviously it has been a really difficult day because the team is in a bad state, they did not compete, we are concerned.

“We must continue and fight to the end to get out of this.

“In the first half we competed, fought and had some chances to at least come away with a draw, but in the second half my players did not show, we were heavily penalised for the errors that we made. They took the win with very little.

“The players are hurt, because at times we have played better than La Real, but then we have been at the mercy of them and we have not been able to do anything.”
