Real Betis boss Pepe Mel believes that Atletico Madrid ‘are the only team who can compete with the big two’.
The Verdiblancos play the capital club tomorrow evening, and the Coach has claimed that Diego Simeone’s men are genuine title contenders.
“They are the only team who can compete with the big two,” he told a Press conference.
“We believe we can have a good game and a good result, but we know it’s going to be tough against a great side.
“I want my team to compete tomorrow – if we do that, we will have taken a big step forward. We’re going to have to be intense and work hard for each other. We know we can win.
“It’s going to be a tough match though. When you look at the likes of Diego Costa, who is between Messi and Ronaldo in the goalscoring charts, you realise how difficult it will be.”
