Joaquin Caparros admitted to Levante’s fortune in winning at Celta Vigo, but reminded reporters of Week 8’s defeat to Real Madrid.
Los Granotes followed up that last-gasp reverse at home to Los Blancos with a similarly last-gasp win at Balaidos in Week 9, thanks to Pape Diop’s finish from a set-play on 90 minutes.
“In the end it all evens out. The previous week we had done everything and not managed the game, to leave with a defeat,” began Caparros afterwards.
“This time, we have had the reward. We struggled a lot, but you also have to give credit to Celta, who have played well.
“We struggled a lot in the first half, with the aerial balls and the rain against us. We thought the second half would be the other way around, but we have not adapted.
“We have been pushed back and defensively good. Football has such cases and in a chance move in the game it has gone our way. But we the result the previous week too.”
