Khedira: Madrid not yet a team

Sami Khedira has reflected on Real Madrid’s difficult start to the Spanish League season and commented that losing Mesut Ozil ‘would weaken any team’.

Los Blancos are spending the October international break third in La Liga beneath Barcelona and Atletico Madrid by five points and under scrutiny for some indifferent form of late.

“We are not playing well. We may have had some good moments, but most of the time we are playing too complicated, too much as individuals,” Khedira mused to Kicker this week.

“I do not know if it is a matter of time or something else, but we have not yet found ourselves as a team.

“We have to improve quickly. Barca are playing very consistently and Atletico have won every game so far.

“Is it down to losing Mesut Ozil? The loss of a quality player like Mesut would weaken any team.”
